AMOM NICU Care Basket Program

AMOM aims to make a difference in our community by involving all our members in our charitable projects. Especially those that offer assistance to families of multiples in need. In fact some of our most fun-filled activities include members creating and preparing items for charitable causes.
NICU parents often forego their basic comfort and needs for those of their infants and other children. Stress, worry, postnatal recovery, lack of sleep and exhaustion can lead to illness and depression, possibly affecting their ability to care for themselves.
Care baskets with snacks, toiletries and similar items can provide sustenance and comfort to parents so they can take care of some basic hygiene needs without having to leave their baby's side.
NICU parents often must wait to hold and even see their babies until they are stabilized and outfitted with lifesaving devices. Parents may feel they have no connection to their newborns. AMOM provides handmade, colorful bunting to decorate baby’s incubator, and a children's book for parents to read to their little ones. These small gestures give the parents a chance to add a touch of home to their baby's surroundings.
NICU parents often forego their basic comfort and needs for those of their infants and other children. Stress, worry, postnatal recovery, lack of sleep and exhaustion can lead to illness and depression, possibly affecting their ability to care for themselves.
AMOM recognizes the need for support and comfort for these families during their baby’s time in the NICU as many of our members have first hand experience.
One such project that AMOM launched in 2016 is a NICU care basket program for parents of multiples.

For many expectant mothers of multiples A NICU stay for one or both(or more) of their babies is an unfortunate, scary and stressful part of their delivery plan.
Arlington Mothers of Multiples uses funds from donations and fundraisers to create care baskets filled with treats, toiletries and infant bonding items and delivers them to Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital for parents of multiples with one or more babies in the NICU.
AMOM is excited about this charitable project and plans to continue this initiative into the future to contribute to our mission to make Arlington Mothers of Multiples an important asset to the local community.
AMOMs NICU care basket program is made possible by donations. Just $10 buys a family one care basket.
